En 1982, 75 % des actions du "Finnjet" furent vendues par le groupe Enso-Gutzeit à l'armateur finlandais Effoa (la maison-mère de Silja Line) : Finnjet Line, une coentreprise entre Effoa et Finnlines fut alors créée dans le but d'exploiter le navire.
