Après avoir été vicaire à Fraserville (Rivière-du-Loup) et à Saint-Roch de Québec, il devient, en 1834, premier chapelain de l’hôpital de la Marine et des Émigrés de Québec.

He then served as curate at Fraserville (Rivière-du-Loup) and at Saint-Roch in Quebec, and in 1834 became first chaplain of the Marine and Emigrant Hospital at Quebec.
