turn (around something)

Just before I reached the hedge I remembered something and turned around.

Juste avant que j'ai atteint la haie, je me suis souvenu de quelque chose et se retourna.

So should I sit around doing nothing, just waiting for something to turn up?

Dois-je alors m’ installer dans un coin et attendre passivement qu’ il se passe quelque chose?
