Hocquart described Lebeau as follows: “of small stature, wearing a brown wig, with a pock-marked face, small, black, rather deep-set eyes, and a slight stammer.”

In this respect, counsel contends that the accused was convicted notwithstanding the contradictory evidence contained in the statement given by the victim herself, who described her assailant as being very tall and having a pock-marked face.
